Our Tutorial Stay provides individual tuition by qualified specialist teachers of English as a foreign language. Our standard Tutorial Stay offers 10 hours of individual tuition for each week of the stay but visitors can vary the amount of tuition, in units of five hours. Given the fixed cost of accommodation, insurance and transfers, buying additional tuition can provide particularly good value for money - for example, a 14-night Tutorial Stay with 15 hours of tuition each week costs £1445, which is just 20% more than the equivalent stay with 10 hours each week but provides 50% more tuition.
Visitors can also benefit from very significant cost reductions if Tutorial Stays are shared between partners, brothers, sisters, friends or colleagues. Many host families can easily accommodate two visitors and a Tutorial Stay shared between two visitors can reduce the price per person by up to 20%.
Tuition will normally be provided by teachers visiting the host family home but, depending on individual circumstances, teachers' families may also act as hosts. We recommend this stay for visitors who have only a basic level of English knowledge and who wish to develop English grammar and use through formal tuition.
